“I think Russell WIlson is going to be great,” said Matt Williamson of Scouts Inc.  Williamson now places the Seahawks as the favorite team to win the NFC West largely due to their new quarterback.  Wilson a rookie from Wisconsin has been given the reins to the offense from head coach Pete Carroll.  Wilson will be starting at quarterback over newly acquired free agent Matt Flynn.  Many scouts believe that Wilson could emerge as the best quarterback in the division this season.  Williamson sees Cam Newton type of potential in Wilson.  Based on his talent and level of play, Williamson thought that Wilson should have been drafted well before the third round.  Wilson is an extremely smart quarterback who did not turn the ball over much in college, however, the knock against Wilson is that he is short.  This is the type of high-risk, high-reward decision by Pete Carroll that could lead to a division title and praise from his peers or it is a move that could backfire.  Time will tell how Wilson will fare as the new starting quarterback and he has no where to go but up.  Wilson might be able to breathe life back into the Seattle Seahawks.
