A week after dismantling the Dallas Cowboys at home, the Seahawks get another chance to beat a top team when they host the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.
It was a disappointing 20-16 loss for Seattle in Week 1, but boy did they ever make up for that performance in Week 2.
In a game that the Cowboys were never really in, the Seahawks ran out as 27-7 victors.
Russell Wilson managed the game beautifully, completing 15-of-20 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown and adding 28 yards on four rushes. He hit Anthony McCoy with the touchdown pass and looked in command all game.
Running back Marshawn Lynch got it done too, scampering for 122 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Lynch’s tough running kept Seattle’s offense on the field and Dallas’ on the sidelines for large stretches.
We can surely expect a tougher fight out of the Packers on Monday night.
Green Bay was able to top the Chicago Bears in Week 2 and will try and use that momentum to get the best of the Seahawks.
The odds right now are in the Packers’ favor as they’re favored by three points. While they’re sure to be taken often with the public’s NFL picks, Seattle is worth a second look as a home underdog.
After all, this home-field advantage is considerable. The crowd noise was incredible against the Cowboys and helped the Seahawks’ defense keep Tony Romo and his offense in check.
It’s hard to determine which Seattle team you’re going to get week-to-week, but at home you know they’re going to give a good effort and will rarely get beaten to a pulp.
Stopping a Packers offense that features so many different weapons will be more difficult, but don’t be surprised to see the Seahawks win this game on MNF.
